The Death of Marat
Quill in hand
Words left unsaid
Tis all too true
Marat is dead.
His message left unfinished
Will ne’er see light of day
We are left to wonder--
What had he meant to say?
His ink-pot dries
The tub will drain
There’s nothing more
To this refrain.
So, he is gone
At peace, at last--
What’s left to say?
Marat has passed.
